I faced some problem while acquiring permission to install Firefox in the college due to lack of authentication, some how I was able to convince them later and organize a install fest.
 

Apart from all the ways of spreading Firefox, posting in public discussion forums is one of the catchy ways to attract the attention of users of that community. The discussions can be initiated on such topics so that readers get encouraged from wider acceptance of the discussion.

I am a new campus rep.I have faced this question by one of my friends in a metting.
He asked me "Do the firefox have the scrolling address bar like the chrome has?"
Like in chrome, if you type a word in the address bar it will more likely dipaly the most commonly viewed sites and the popular sites.

Some of you have written about your experiences in the Success Stories! threads from 2008-09 and now 2009-10... and I have noticed A LOT of great content.  Many of the events or activities campus reps have been involved in have included presentations about open source, the Mozilla project, and/or Firefox...
 
One piece of content that I feel is very important for all campus reps is a good set of slides.  They are an essential tool for not only helping you better understand the topic you are presenting, but also for giving your audience an opportunity to quickly grasp the concepts and ideas you are sharing with them in a short amount of time.

I'm a campus rep from the University of Montreal, in Canada (Quebec). I'm also the webmaster of http://www.secondeguerre.net, a popular French Website on World War II where I recommend the use of Firefox (and my website is fully W3C compliant).

Firefox is the best web browser out of several I've tried such as Internet Explorer. Who agrees?

This Easter the Ecards Project still plans on creating an Ecard however our lead developer (FuzzyFox) will be taking a step back due to a massive work load at college and other projects which he cannot avoid.
We will shortly be releasing the source for the current Holi Ecard and hope that you will help easy the burden of this next incarnation of the Ecard for Easter.

Most of the people in village side are not aware of effective use of  internet .Even if they use they are not known to use it effectively.The great success of firefox would be,when even the village side people use firefox and its plugins effectively for their browsing.

We appreciate your taking the time to become a Mozilla Campus Rep. We're excited about spreading Firefox and we know you are, too. Some of our most memorable marketing campaigns have been really creative ideas carried out by a small group of people. However, you don't need a crop circle to tell people how awesome Firefox is. We've taken some of your ideas that we think will be effective no matter where you go to school and put them together in this guide.

To help you get started we've outlined what we think you'll need to pull these ideas off, but left lots of room for you to add your own spin! So try taking on some of these projects:

1. Create a Firefox club
2. Promote Firefox at campus fairs and festivals
3. Convert a college dorm to Firefox
4. Get a Firefox story published
5. Get Firefox installed on campus

Im starting this thread here, as of today the Firefox proyect at my school is starting, i hope this moves to the "succes" part of this same blog.
Today i got permission from the systems department at my University, as well as support with photocopies and "maybe" some designers, i am pretty excited about this, i will keep you guys informed about what happens

apart from all the ways of spreading firefox...i think sending emails telling people about the imporatance and advantages is the best way to convince them to download firefox and use it as their default browser.
what i have learnt from my personal experience is that the emails are very well received and acknowledeged (provided they are written alluringly well)..

So.... finally....the day has arrived  when I got permission from my dean and Head of deaprtment to install Mozilla Firefox 3 on every computer in my campus.....
so the first user comment about firefox was " awesome internet browser" .... and everybody loves it!!

Hey everyone, I just finished working an ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) table at my college's Student Involvement Fair. Jay sent me some great Mozilla gear a few weeks back and I wanted to thank him and post some photos of the event. We gave away almost everything that I was sent during the two hour involvement fair, and introduced a lot of people to Firefox.

was just thinking at the impact microsoft ha sin Zimbabwe, let alone Africa. am a website designer but software engineer by qualifications and l have been taking what Microsoft has taught us over the years...all my websites have a tag that insists you download firefox for best view otherwise it ain't that compatible with IE...

I do not know about people in other parts of the world (particularly USA), but here in Pakistan, most of us already heading back to our university campuses. I, too, am heading back tomorrow... I am just wondering when the Rep Registration is opening up...
With FireFox 3, there are at least 500 computers I am converting :)

Not long till we go back to campus now. What are your plans for getting the mozilla  buzz into the new students? What little trick have you got up your sleve to get the network admins to install FF? What mozilla supplies are you going to be taking with you?

Some of you might know what quakecon is and some of you might not. To put it simply, its a place where people who love gaming/computers come together to have fun and see the latest products that various companies have to offer. This year i took it upon myself to go and promote Firefox to the individuals that would attend.

I have had people say to me that one MAJOR reason they will not use Firefox is, because there is no way to select what folder or what drive to save the information from a website.  They also said they will continue to use IE until there is a way to do so.

    As most of you know, Firefox 3 has been released. Some of you might know everything there is to know already, but for those that don't then you need to listen up. The differences between Firefox 2 and Firefox 3 are tremendous. Not only has the security and performance been enhanced, but there are tons of other new features.

Do you love Firefox? How about free schwag?

We have launched our Download Day site, check out http://www.spreadfirefox.com/worldrecord!  Please share that link with everyone you know and encourage them to PLEDGE!  More information about the launch can be found at the Mozilla Blog.

I have also attached the flyer and petition files you can print out and use to get people excited about setting a NEW GUINNESS WORLD RECORD!  You can collect signatures and PLEDGE for them on the site if they have given you their email address...

But there are many other ways to reach even more people:

a. Blog about Download Day and tell people about how you're helping as a Mozilla Campus Rep
b. Post to your Facebook, MySpace, Orkut, etc social networks and tell your friends about it there.
c. Email your family and friends and give them the website link so they can check it out themselves

The actual Download Day date is dependent on the release of Firefox 3, so check the Download Day site http://www.spreadfirefox.com/worldrecord for updates!

Remember, we're trying to set a NEW record, so the sky's the limit!  If all of you do your part, we can reach MILLIONS of people and set a record that will be hard to beat. ;-)

Dear SpreadFirefox member,

As you probably know, some spreadfirefox groups have been getting a lot of duplicate (or more!) postings. We have tracked down the issue and determined that this is happening in groups that have large number of people requesting email notifications. It has been a difficult problem but we have identified the issue and are working on a fix.

Sofia Firefox Camp will be held on the 11th of May in Sofia. The event will gather Firefox fans, developers, users and even enemies of the software. This will be the first Barcamp, devoted only to Firefox. Everyone is invited! More info can be found here (in bulgarian only)
