2008? I think we're far beyond this point now and can celebrate that FF is one of the most used - and still best - browsers out there!

Firefox the best browser, fast downloads, and free plugins xD

I'm finding myself frequently replying to posts all over the Internet in defense of Firefox and man it's exhausting and becoming a full time job. When did all of this happen anyway? Weren't we all just celebrating Firefox together focused on a new and exciting Web?

What's to defend?  IE is bloatware and Chrome is king of the throne (bathroom toilet)!

Half a billion is great but half a billion times X 1 dollar would be better.

firefox its the best option.. Affiliate Promotion

they can't track how many first time downloads there have been and that's the number that really matters.Oyunlar

Exactly 8 years before we felt very difficult to download any new softwares.. Like, it takes min of 2 hours to download 50mb software.. But now our technology has moved soo far.. It does not take not more than 10mins to download 100Mb software.. thanks. regards,

I was very much found of IE but recent Firefox updates really impressed me and now i am using firefox. Although Google has also introduced his browser Chrome but its not as near to Firefox. I am using software magazzino for email confirmation. But i will sign-up in future for this event

Unbelievable. I think FireFox the best browser in the world. Google Chrome is not a competitor.

Yes, absolutely i am using this since 2007 and trust me i found it VERY BEST. Even i forgot about IE, very rare i opened IE. Regarding Chrome, its still early to say but i am sure Firefox is much better in shape and in competition. Chrome still far behind and many things they need to improve.

and yet another big torrent sites dies due to mpiaa or the riaa… oh well.good.

When would be the next sign up open? I have to participate as well, i was busy in making web hosting website. Well i am sure it will be started again soon

It's high number! This - not exactly that we - after here and I certainly shall not want to love my effort supporting and spreading open source to turn in spreading something that already illegal in my country.

Half a billion is a great number, but the reality is, they can't track how many first time downloads there have been and that's the number that really matters.

Well, it's sure a very nice gesture but there's a concern yet to be clarified.
What kind of rice do they donate?
If that rice is genetically modified it's not much of a courtesy, it's more likely a way to spread potentialy dangerous products of certain brands around the globe. That's not exactly what we are after here and i certainly wouldn't like my effort of supporting and spreading open source to turn into spreading something that's already illegal in my country (though it is finely covered as a life-saving charity)

Oh please, don't start spreading that BS here. GM food could end world hunger at a fraction of the cost. Irrational fear like yours has cost thousands of people their lives.

And how does that compare to the FAO numbers, that currently 12 billion people could be fed? Its not a question of GM or not GM, its a problem of greed and GM won't solve it and endangers our planet and our health.

Where did it come from? Perhaps the technology will improve in a few years, so as to trace the 1 Billionth - for historical purposes :-)

yes, it is legit...

I bet you must be happy from these numbers.

great idea. freerice.com is a legit organization right?
