WhatTime Firefox will be released

What time will Firefox be released.
What Time zone are the download server using.
I am EDT

It is truly PATHETIC that the timezone was not specified in this whole marketing campaign. It reflects incredibly poorly to the entire international audience, that the firefox devs/marketers are too ignorant to even recognise that there is a whole world out there beyond California! What sort of 'international' exercise is this?! Even Microsoft would have got this right. Terrible effort - a failure before it even began. Fail.

they had to tell us clearly exactly whn to come.. half of the day is gone.. and its not starting..!!

All you needed to know was where Mozilla is located (Mountain View, California). It's not even the 17th yet in California. 47 minutes till, but it's still the 16th. Also, the 24 hour window hasn't started yet. Still, the notice of the start time of 10AM PST is good for me to know. Tis was curious.

Remember. 10AM where the time is currently 11:15PM June 16th. Still a little over 10 1/2 hours to go.

It's apparently silly that the homepage(mozilla.com, spreadfirefox.com, whatever) * offcially didn't have any single mention* about what timezone would be chosen. It would'nt have killed you if you guys told us the timezone, would it? At least it could have been told hands down via Email, which was publicly delivered three days ago.

Sorry, I'm just a little disapointed about it, because I love FF.

Found a link that says 1:00 a.m. EST is the official time to start the download. Well I'm in EDT and it's now 02:05 a.m. and the link still points to FF 2.

When will the Mozilla Firefox 3 come to the UK?
07:22AM in Leeds UK

thanks. quite a big oversight on mozilla's part.
checked at 1 yesterday. nothing.
checked at 11 this morning. nothing.

so ends up its 1 AM tommorrow.
and how do they count the 24 hour thing anyway.
cant they just release it and count 24hrs?

i came at 12 am nothing was there. then i came after 10 30 am

now i am here.. whn it wil start? whn it will start counting 24 hour?

its the 17th, gunna download and nothing. firefox.com still shows v2 and no message. very poor. and now I read the comments here. join the world mozilla, its so much nicer than america. so unimpressed I aint even sticking to grammer, or capitalisation, so there.

so as my protest I am going to encourage everyone to download firefox on the 19th (GMT), since I can't download it on the 17th.

How silly to set a download day of the 17th and now allow people to download on the 17th in their own timezone. Hopefully the software is more internationally aware.

And mozilla - update your bloody website and advertise your new product.

According to the mozillafirefox twitter feed: http://twitter.com/mozillafirefox the Download Day offically starts on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 10:00 AM San Francisco time.

Given that we specified our country in the pledge you'd think that it would be fairly easy to work out the actual time that downloads would start for each area and advise of that time in the email, avoiding pissing off so many people.
Perhaps something to consider in the future. brando

This is ridiculous! Here I am 11am July 17 and no FF3 download in sight. Even got an email a couple of days ago reminding me to be ready on July 17. Turns out it on a PMT time zone or something like that - makes sense I guess! Would have been nice to know in advance. brando

This blog post:
http://www.daniels.net.nz/2008/06/17/firefox-download-day-its-actually-t...

...claims:
"An actual release time has now been announced, 10am PDT (California time)."

But no mention of where the announcement was made.

WHY THE HELL DNT U SAY THE BLIMMEN TIME ZONE??? why do americans not give a shit about the important and universal time zone of GMT which is english? Do they think they're so big and powerful that they dnt need to? And how the hell can they miss switzerland off the map's list thingy??
6h32mins to go when it shud have been released 1h and a half ago...

In my opinion, I would of taken it to start at 00:00 GMT, this would of seemed the most fair as this is no so timezone based as some unknown timezone in the USA, isn't UTC (GMT) suppose to be Universal?

Anyway I can't believe that they have gone to all this trouble planning this and failed to put a start/end time!

i`m from romania. please tell me at what hour will firefox will be launched . i`m in night shift right now , and i will sleep for the rest of the day . i will get out of work in aproximetley 5 hours. please tell me the hour

FF3 is somewhere in America, where people are in their beds right now and don't give a shit about people in Europe. Not even to give a clear message when FF3 will be released.

I have waited up till midnight GMT time and nothing, where is FF3....

It's such a big advancement abut most important part is missing... Why they just couldn't write like... Starting from June 17 2008 (GMT-8) on the TOP page....

Heute ist der 17. und das einzige was ich bekommen konnte war ein Update für FF2. Wo bleibt der FF3??????? Today is 17th and the only thing I can get was an updat for FF2. Where is FF3?????

Spreadfirefox time zone is in GMT -8 (Pacific Time).
Setting computer's clock to that zone will show exact time and date of the server.

The lack of clarity about how Download Day would deal with different timezones is very frustrating:

- "Most software downloaded in 24 hours" implies that everyone would be working to the same schedule.

- But there's nothing in the FAQ about it.

- And I've read a request, that seemed to be from an organiser, that everyone should download on 16/Jun according to their timezone.

Here in Australia, it's almost 9am and 16/Jun and Firefox 3 is not yet available. What do I tell people when it becomes available? That they have to download by midnight, because it's based on local time? Or that they have until the end of the day in an unspecified US timezone?

I agree: the timezone should be clearly noted wherever the download date is given.  When you're asking people from all over the world to do something within a 24-hour window, timezone information is clearly very important.

The current complete lack of this info looks very sloppy, especially given the apparent emphasis on world-wide participation (the animated world map etc).
