Hasn't the whole thing been ruined by annoying your users?
When you have sent out emails to most of the world saying that it will be available on the 17th and you can only provide it 17 hours late - don't you think the whole thing is wrong?
You will only get this record now - because no-one else has the record - not the record you could have had though with a bit of organisation!

I have been to the website and pledged - told the 17th, got an email - told the 17th and revisited the website - told the 17th. I feel it would be arrogant to assume that the time should be in GMT - but given nothing else it seems a resonable assumption
You can't make a record for 24 hours, if everybody start downloding when 17th comes in their countries.
I pledged my support and gave a commitment. However I now find that I cannot go through with the commitment as I have to leave the house to catch a plane at 16:00 GMT - and I won't be back at my computer until Saturday
Totally agree with you grouchal. I remember feeling let down at the time
I have to say something here. I live in the UK as well, born and bred, and I have found it frustrating that I've had to wait to be able to download FF3, but the UK isnt the centre of the world, despite the fact that GMT starts here.
Firefox is developed on the West Coast of the USA, so why should they not start the downloads at there time 10am. It seems fair to me, since it is developed there. Let it go for goodness sake. Its you the one that's spoiling it for complaining.
What is the problem with waiting?
I had planned to download firfox today and be part of the record attempt - I pledged my support and gave a commitment.
However I now find that I cannot go through with the commitment as I have to leave the house to catch a plane at 16:00 GMT - and I won't be back at my computer until Saturday.
So I feel let down and I want to firefox guys to know that this was badly thought out and badly communicated so that they don't do it again.

I agree with you. It should be written from the beginning that it will be on 17th at 10 but California time. I was sure it would be UTC (or GMT/Zulu) !
I was expecting this, it's all about time zones.
