Lithuania downloads unexpected?
Is there an anomaly in the data from Lithuania? Their statistics were reported to be comparable, if slightly ahead, of Estonia most of download day. Then suddenly they surged past Germany. Is there a mistake or manipulation, or a logical explanation? Who audits this sort of thing? I know there is some audit mechanism because of the Guinness Book of World Records attempt.
Another interesting statistic is the large number of downloads in Iran, when compared to countries with comparable population like Turkey or Mexico or Vietnam. However, I think thei data is more believable, I watched it grow steadily, and their are social reasons which might explain the rather high downloads (it would be nice if somebody could share what they might be).
The map is a stark reminder of the digital divide, especially for Africa, Central Asia and parts of Southeast Asia.

Why is ratio in Lithuania so high?
Why has Lithuania ratio downloads/people 11,3% and second highest ratio is only 2%? http://dd.dzubak.sk/dd_down-pop
For me as Lithuanian it is
For me as Lithuanian it is still unanswered question. The numbers a pretty huge, that's more than 10 percent of our population. But the news of this FF campaign was presented in local internet media, for example, some sites, which generates more than a million views per day. Maybe they have done their influence.
By the way, I have started to use FF with help of this campaign, thus I'm happy. So hiya fellows ;)
international companynetworks
Hello!
Can it be, that international company-networks are responsible for less downloads in Russia like in India? People loading down over Lithuania because the companyproxy is located there near big lines?
Maybe the cut of some seacable some month ago still is affecting the connectivity of private persons in india or Africa.
(map of seacable here: http://www.telegeography.com/products/map_cable/TG_CableMap_1200x1600.jp...)
By the way: Why is there such a diffrence between the downloadcounter (downloadcounter.sj.mozilla.com) and the map figures. The counter shows already 14 millions, the mapcounter needs still 50000?
