I was extremely impressed by the Firefox Download day campaign idea (before the records were broken) and then the overwhelming response to the Download day event.

While thinking about something as effective, the ages-old method of using email signatures came up.

What do you folks feel about this?

Just like we have banners or buttons to put on web pages, could we have a list of witty signatures to append to emails? Clearly, this is a long-term marketing campaign - and it needs a bunch of people good at pun, words and witty comments. But I think it's pretty easy to collect witty signatures - announce a competition to get the best ten One-Liners that can be used by everyone as their email signature.

Of course, email signatures are sometimes very personal things and only those who really admire the whole firefox project might participate, but there are a lot of fence-sitters who would love to help in as much as they probably love the browser.
