Question about the Marketing Challenge structure

I was just wondering if it is best to encourage a one page executive summary for the first round, followed up with a detailed marketing plan for the finalists.  Executive summaries are supposed to be written after the rest of the marketing plan is written, so the above strategy may not encourage entrants to develop the most detailed, high quality plans.  Requesting a full marketing plan for the first round could encourage more thoroughly considered plans, as well as provide Mozilla with more details and diverse ideas.

I can understand that judges would not be able to read such a large quantity of plans in detail, but would like to consider ways of encouraging the writing of full marketing plans for all entrants in some way.

Re: Question about the Marketing Challenge structure

Jeremy -- thanks for the feedback! I definitely agree that we should probably avoid using the exact phrase "executive summary"... I can see how it might give the wrong impression of our intentions for round 1. That said, I think we're going for the greatest possible participation in the first round, i.e., we don't want to set barriers/hurdles too high.  Ken
