A new Spread Firefox coming to a computer near you!
Update: We're still plugging away on Affiliates -- this is a super important program so we're going to take the extra time to work it out. If you want a redesign fix you can check out the updated design here. We'll update you soon. Thanks for all of your patience!
Hi all: We're getting really close to rolling out the new Spread Firefox with a whole new look and feel! As part of this I wanted to refresh you on the design we've gone with. We worked with The Royal Order of mozilla.com fame to create a new design that reflected all the great people and community behind Spread Firefox. At the same time we aimed to simplify the site and make it clear as to what to do first. As part of this we revamped the homepage and created a new News & Events page to distill all the great happenings on Spread Firefox.

On the homepage:
- CTAs: You'll notice three new Calls-to-action to let people know what they should - join if they're not a member, contribute to a project or spread Firefox with an affiliate button.
- Recent discussions: In the lower left there is a block to aggregate recent discussion and comments on Spread Firefox to give you a glimpse of what is going on.
- Featured Projects: We'll be rotating six interesting community projects for people to checkout.
- Community Spotlight: Each week (or thereabouts) a community member will be hightlighted for his or her great work!
- Photostream: We're continuing to display pictures from Mozilla-related events all over the world!

News & Events page:
- Campus reps block: With over 700 members, Campus Reps is becoming a powerhouse for promoting Firefox and Mozilla. Since there is a ton interest around the program we're giving it top billing here.
- Get Active: This is the former "Quick Wins" section which are fun and easy things to do to spread Firefox.
- Marketing Buzz: This is new to the site and will aggregate Mozilla-marketing related blogs from around the world.
- News promo blocks: We have three blocks to promote cool projects and programs.
- Events Calendar: We'll be displaying upcoming events here!
We're looking to launch this next week. When we do so we will need to close Spread Firefox for a few hours to get all the great new content implemented. Thanks for your patience and we'll keep you apprised of timing!
Many thanks to Mozilla team for creating and developing the best browser in the world.
I’ve tried chrome today, Woah! looks like Google copied lots of stuff directly from Mozilla Firefox! and they didn’t even acknowledge them! Even the name chrome is lifted from Firefox Gecko Engine.
if you got Firefox enter chrome://browser/content/browser.xul and you can see that chrome actually refers to the XUL render engine.Chrome is spy ware that sends everything back to Google HQ about user patterns. Don’t write-off Firefox or IE yet. Firefox is amazing browser with great addons/plugins. It wouldnt take much for Mozilla team to add Firefox with whatever chrome got today

As the final thought we would like to comment about Google's effort into the browser market. Many news headlines have written about the fact that 'Google has no plans to enter the browser market'.
Considering the fact that FireFox is an open source browser and the fact that anyone (including Google's engineers) can add extensions to it and improve it in general, FireFox is Google's browser.
Regards,
All of this has been a pinch-yourself experience for Mozilla's Baker. A former Netscaper, she became accustomed to laboring in obscurity during the Mozilla project's early days. Now she's struggling with the group's recognition. She gets buttonholed by parents at her son's school and approached by strangers at exercise class.
Recently, after Baker handed a Mozilla T-shirt to a friend at Trapeze Arts, the circus-skills gym where she works out, a nearby woman burst out: "Are you from Mozilla? Firefox changed my life!" She then kneeled and bowed before a stunned Baker."

I only know of Firefox as a browser.. And its way better than IE.. My IE keeps on closing while I'm in the middle of something so I really am not using it anymore.. Firefox, highly recommended..!

Great design.. though the dark blue buttons could be modified a bit to make them light..
This is some real kick ass design.. Kudos!!
Firefox still the best among others web browser so far. As compared with IE, Chrome, Safari, Flock... firefox still the best. Especially with the features of plugin and high loading speed. I still prefer firefox. With the new upcoming IE8, firefox still beat it easily

Firefox is great. I am secured when I use it anytime. My online store make it grow.
It's going to look really good. A little refresher is always a good thing as long as functionality doesn't break. Good Luck! -Rob, Consultant
The new graphics are really eye catching!

The last time there was an upgrade, it was a disaster. Hope it doesn't happen again.

IT seems that no one can keep on schedule these days. 7:00PDT has came and went. --Omega X
They might have stuck in something.. Bear with them.. ;)
The graphics are great.. They are eye-catching.. I just downloaded opera when I found out that there are features of Opera which are not present in Firefox.. But with this new spread Firefox, I think Opera is behind.. Oh right.. Is this the first homepage of Firefox..? I only know of Firefox as a browser.. And its way better than IE.. My IE keeps on closing while I'm in the middle of something so I really am not using it anymore.. Firefox, highly recommended..!

Yes the feel is more crisp. The old old site was to much blog and we were all lost there after awhile. I feel this "now" site was a good start, but many of the cool featured we have discussed to design this site are not in place.
Can't wait for a low threshold (in using) high value (in content and activity) site of our community!

I have been blogging for a while now, and I have learned a few things new, blogging is about learning different cultures and trying to explore the world with out getting on a airplane. You can see there are all types of blogs to learn from take a look at my blogs, I have had so many errors using IE, I do not even touch it anymore, but it comes with a Dell Computer, I think they should start installing FireFox on all there systems.
Firefox is awsome and its way quicker then internet explorer, and less buggy. I cant see myself going back to explorer any way.Cheers
