Firefox is probably by far the most downloaded software ever. Soon Firefox will reach the 1 billion downloads milestone! An incredible achievement that should be celebrated appropriately. Join this group to share your ideas and plans for this historical event.
The purpose of this group is twofold:
- Discuss and organize celebrations of this momentous achievement in on-line and off-line events.
- Create a buzz around this moment and use it as a marketing opportunity to further promote Firefox.
Of course we do not know exactly when the 1 billion downloads milestone will be reached, and although it is rather difficult to make a correct guess as to when the 1 billion downloads might be reached, we have created the Firefox Download Guesstimator to give us some indication as to the available time for preperations. However the upcoming release of Firefox 3.5 will create an enourmous surge in downloads that will obviously cause the 1 billion milestone to be reached (a lot) earlier than is currently predicted.

- A "countdown" or rather count up on Times Square.
- A contest to guess the correct date and time.
- Parties.
- A blogging rally.
