IBM Sets Firefox as Inhouse Default
News I received from IBM employees tell me that IBM is to make Firefox the default inhouse browser by the 2nd quarter of 2010 so as to enhance web productivity of their employees.
It's great news that a big multinational is making the switch. IBM's case can also start a snowball effect as IBM serves the IT needs of many large companies.

Yeah that awesome my friend, Mozilla is the best Browser in the world, that didn't came by chance
As an IBM employee for 15 years and an enthusiastic supporter of open source, I am proud to confirm this. We are also aggressively working to develop, distribute and support several linux open client distros for internal IBMers including Red Hat, Fedora, Ubuntu/Debian and SUSE.
It's not your grandpa's IBM anymore!
Cheers!
Thnak You for your heads up. The biggest thing about this is because IBM can further develop Firefox itself or make app and add-ons. Also, one large company like IBM will implement more securities measures and the whole community can get benefits from that. I think this is more than only than "spreading" FF but a new step on make FireFox stronger. Better than companies like Google which is trying to introduce Chrome instead helping free alternatives making the user experience more safe.
FireFox Rocks!
Thanks for confirmation, FoxBlue. But, is there any official statement (link)?
Are you kidding? You must be kidding. Are you? Of course you're not. This is amazing! Monumental! But again, just to be sure, are you kidding?
Perhaps other large companies like Oracle or Microsoft will switch to Firefox. Well, perhaps not Microsoft :).
Let's also not forget about government agencies and non-corporate organizations. I'm sure IBM is a big player with many of them as well and many could follow in their footsteps just to "be like IBM".
