'Tis the Season 2007

The holiday season is in full swing and many of us will be spending quality time with family and friends at home and/or sending out a lot of holiday cards... so this is the perfect time to get creative and spread Firefox with some holiday cheer! :-)

I can think of two simple ways anyone can help spread the word about Firefox this holiday season:

100% organic campaigns

I've been playing with this idea of "100% organic software". As a fun promotional thing, we printed off some food safe stickers. The plan is to put them on organic fruit. I'm going to do this next week at a conference, ROFLcon.org.

500+ Million Celebration

In honor of the 500 million download mark we're celebrating by raising 500,000,000 grains of rice in one day to help feed the world's poor. Since we have reached the milestone, it is time to flock to freerice.com and attempt to push the days total over 1/2 billion. This is just a foreshadow to where one day Firefox will be.

The Fire up the Fox! project was launched in November 2006 (see announcement on the old SFx). Recently the project has moved to its own site and has been rebuilt in PHP to make it more dynamic.
