Take the Quick Wins Challenge
There are literally thousands of ways that you can help spread the word about Firefox. At Spread Firefox, we've got a number of big projects but there are a lot of smaller and easier things you can do to get the word out. We've collected a few of those ideas here and we encourage you to pick a new "Quick Win" each week and make it happen.
- Add a link to Firefox in the profile of your instant messaging client.
- Change your avatar, Facebook photo, etc. to the Firefox logo for one week.
- Wear a Firefox t-shirt today.
- Do you have a blog? If so, make your next post about how Firefox has changed your web experience.
- Using Tell-A-Friend, send out five e-mails.
- Visit a local landmark or an unusual attraction.
- Wear your Firefox gear and photograph yourself at the landmark. Then submit it to our gallery.
- Digg a Firefox or open source related story.
- Put a link to Firefox in your e-mail signature.
- Start a new project on SFx.
- Put a link to Firefox in your signature of a message board you frequent regularly. If you don’t frequent any message boards, find an active message board and try to convince someone.
- E-mail your local librarian, extol the virtues of Firefox and offer to help them deploy it (or put them in contact with us).
- Think hard about something new and unusual that’s going to help Firefox. Submit your idea to the marketing forum.
- Print out three copies of this Firefox datasheet and pin it to three bulletin boards in your town. Think: community centers, gyms, workplaces, Jamba Juice…
- Buy a Firefox bumper sticker and put it on your car.
- Go to a local computer store such as Best Buy, CompUSA or Fry’s. Open Notepad on one of the display machines and leave a short advertisement for Firefox.
- Tell a family member about Firefox. (If your immediate family already uses it, it’s time to call the relatives.)
- Get a Firefox button added to three sites that don’t have any.
- Send us a testimonial about your Firefox experience.
- Send your Firefox story to Browse Happy (browsehappy.com).
- Help someone in the Firefox Support forum on MozillaZine.
- Get 1 new person to join the sfx community.
- Earn yourself 10 affiliate points today. Send a letter to your local or campus newspaper about Firefox.
- E-mail a local high school administrator/IT lead, extol Firefox’s virtues and offer to help deploy it (or put them in contact with us).
- It’s time to get aggressive. Put an interstitial page advertising Firefox between IE users and your website for the next 24 hours.
- If you use IRC, add a link to getfirefox.com to your quit message.
- Set your desktop wallpaper to this Firefox wallpaper.
- Leave a post-it note on the desk of a random person in your office that you don’t know that says “getfirefox.com”. Don’t sign it.
- Ask three non-techy friends what websites they frequent regularly. Put the list here:
- Leave a note in your mailbox telling your mailman about Firefox.
- Eat out tonight. When you pay the bill, leave the waiter a monetary tip and a handwritten tip to the tune of “getfirefox.com”.
- Come up with one brilliant "Quick Win" idea that hasn’t been done already and post it here:
- Send a letter to one of the major PC magazines about your experience with Firefox Burn Firefox onto three separate CD’s, print out three copies of this datasheet, and give the pair to three people in the next 24 hours.
- Choose a magazine and create a mockup of a full-page advertisement promoting Firefox in that magazine, geared to its audience. Post your conceptual art here:
- Visit the website that gave us our last referral (see link at top) and spend 15 minutes exploring the site.
- Print a stack of 50 flyers and give them out a public place (think: shopping malls, outside of movie theatres).

Promoting Firefox
Hey, husband and I autocross (race my hubby's daily driver in a parking lot full of cones) on the weekends, and when I register my car, I am able to put a sponsor name, which shows up on the entry list, results page and is sometimes mentioned as you are racing. When I registered this time, I put in my sponsor box: "Download Firefox 3 Take back control of the web!" And although I don't mind that I'm not actually being sponsored by Firefox, I wouldn't turn down a couple of Firefox car magnets to stick on while I'm out there tearing up the course! (hint, hint)

i have told all my collegues to download to hel you out and had to give a meeting today passed out leaflets asking them to get firefox hope they did it in time to help get the world record

From when I will start download of FF3. In my office i have net. Is it before 5 pm ( BD time).

I have better idea. In our company we still using Explorer 7 (except me ;-) So i will today evening install on all computers Firefox 3. There is no reason to stay with Internet Explorer. All company websites are designed for Firefox (by me :-). So tomorrow all our employers (cca 400) will have Firefox 3

FireFox 3
Wow! I switched to Firefox 3 and am so amazed! I don't Know why I never changed from IE to Firefox. I'm kicking myself now! Thank you for one of the most efficient and fast programs I've ever had on my computer. Now, if I can just get my Thunderbird mail to work as well. I'd like to get my Hotmail imported to it so I can get rid of that too!

Better Gmail 2 add-on for HTML signatures
Gmail doesn't allow HTML signatures (with images, links, etc.). However, you can download the Better Gmail 2 add-on for Firefox which allows you to do this:

Know what to kiss, and when
I see that Mozilla does censorship as well. I posted some things to help and show that some of the "quick wins" are actually obnoxious, irritating and counterproductive. After a while, that post has disappeared. What is this? ONLY post things that kiss up to Mozilla and Firefox? Tell me, when have you ever learned from someone that only agrees with you? I'm getting more and more fed up with the "religion", the fanaticism and the "evangelism". There is no reason here, only virgin geeks yelling, "YEAH! FIREFOX ROCKS!!!" You don't need my help, so I'll take my Firefox buttons off my Websites and Weblogs. In fact, the censorship and deleting things you don't like irritates me so much (imagine the amount of profanity that I am restraining right now), I'm seriously thinking of switching to Opera. Or even going back to IE.

I put a reply last night, and guess what it's gone. All I said was that I saw your remarks in a google preview when I did a search. When I clicked on the link, your stuff was gone. Yeah, I guess the only stuff you can put here is for raving how wonderful it is. That's why I don't do much it's just pick and choose by Mozilla censors, things get censored that are not just praise.

Ever since firefox came out I was astonished as how good it is compared to IE then they launched firefox 2 which completely erased the IE on my dictionary, and now they are about to release firefox 3 I would not miss this for the world.
