- First, read this page of frequently asked questions. If you can't find the answer to your question, no worries!! Just contact us at screencast_questions@support.mozilla.com.
- How long will I be able to submit screencasts?
- Monday, May 19, 2008 through Sunday, June 15, 2008. All entries must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on June 15, 2008.
- Can I submit more than one screencast?
- Yes, please do! You may enter as many times as you like, but you must fill out a new form for each entry. And, you may only enter one screencast for each article. But, like we said, please feel free to enter screencasts for as many of the articles as you like!
- Can a team of people develop the screencast?
- Yes, however, only one prize will be awarded per entry.
- Is the contest open to international entries?
- Yes, come one come all. But, please see the Contest Rules for more information.
- What are the judging criteria?
- All screencast entries* will be judged on the following.
- Correctness / appropriateness of content (34%),
- Quality of video production (33%) and
- Completeness (33%).
- The best videos for the top 100 SUMO knowledge base support articles will be selected as the winner for that support issue. Mozilla will not automatically pick a winner for each 100 articles since some of the top 100 articles may not have a submission, or the entries may not be of winning quality.
- For the grand prize, the entries with the highest scores for each of the top one hundred (100) articles will then be judged based on the following criteria:
- Concept (25%),
- Production (Aesthetic) quality (25%),
- Completeness (25%), and
- How well the submission compliments the existing SUMO article (25%)
- The Entrant with the highest score from the top one hundred (100) Entrants (one from each SUMO article) will be the grand prize winner.
- * A screencast entry is defined as a video that visually demonstrates the contents of one of the top 100 SUMO knowledge base articles featured in the contest.
- What can I win?
- If you are one of the top screencast submissions for a SUMO article, you will win one of the unique t-shirts we are creating for the winners of this contest. You can see the design on the Prizes page!
- How do I submit my screencast and enter the contest?
- We're glad you asked! To submit your screencast, please go to the Submit page and provide a link to your screencast.
- What do I need to submit?
- After you've finished recording your screencast, your third-party provider should give you a link to where you can find your video. You will need to submit that URL of your screencast as your submission. The Jing Project software that we recommend hosts your video and provides a link for you. It is super easy! But, just to make it clear, Mozilla will not host the actual files of the screencast during the contest.
- How do I know you've received my screencast?
- We try our best to stay in touch with you so you always know what is going on. Therefore, all entrants who submit screencasts will receive email confirmation. If you don't receive an email confirmation after submitting your screencast (remember, it may take several hours), please contact us at screencast_questions@support.mozilla.com
- What video size and aspect ratio should I use for my entry?
- Please use the 4:3 aspect ratio and a maximum of 640x480 pixels for your entries.
- Will entries be available to the general public?
- Now to the legal stuff -- all entries will be licensed under the Creative Common license.
