Shiretoko Shock

The Shock heard around the world
Firefox 3.5 — code-named Shiretoko — is set to launch on Tuesday, June 30th! How cool would it be if we could set off fireworks worldwide to celebrate? We'd light up the night country by country, town by town, to show the world just how amazing Firefox is. Just like New Year's, only better — since you get to see who "launched" the fireworks. We're going to make a big bang by spreading Firefox with Social Media. And, we need your help!
You can be part of the Shock heard round the world. Tell others what you love about the newest version of Firefox. Our community is everything to us, and when it comes to spreading Firefox, nothing is more effective than word of mouth marketing. So we want to get everyone involved in introducing Firefox 3.5 to the world. Let's keep the momentum going for a full 24 hours as we spread the message around the world, one time zone at a time.
How you can get involved
Here's what you do. Set your watch for 3:50 PM — to correspond to the new Firefox version number: 3.5. When it's 3:50 PM (that's 15:50 for those of you on 24-hr clocks) make your move. We want you to tweet, blog, post to Facebook, and more.
You can help send the Shock in two ways — either by posting about it during your region's Shock at 3:50 PM your local time, or by being part of the Super Shock. Even better, participate both ways. Here's how.
Be part of your Regional Shocks — The Shock will last for a total of 24 consecutive hours. Each hour after Firefox 3.5 launches, a new time zone will chime in, adding a steady stream of social media posts when the clock reaches 3:50 PM in their region. We'll start at 3:50 PM in Brazil and move west, sending the Shock around the world one time zone after another.
For the best Shockwave effect, make sure to wait until it's 3:50 PM your time to post. That's the best way to make the biggest impact with the Shiretoko Shock. You can also schedule your Tweet ahead of time by using a service such as Twuffer (set it to 4pm).
